Budenovite (or budenovets) – a fighter of the First Cavalry Army under the command of Semyon Budyonny during the Civil War. A distinctive type of a military uniform hat is also coming from this origin – budenovka. Revolutionary art depicted budenovka as an integral attribute of the Red Army, it was often used in propaganda posters calling on workers and peasants to join the revolution. 

Lyachuk Timophey Andreevich was born in March 1930 in the Poltavsky region (Ukraine). He studied at the Kiev Art Institute until 1957. From 1964 to 1994 he was a head of the poster art workshop at the Kiev State Art Institute. Lived and worked in Kiev.

Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (1958). Honored Artist of Ukraine (1969).
